World Number six, Alexander Zverev happen to lose the second set in the final match of Laver Cup 2019, and before beginning the deciding tiebreaker, his team-mate Roger Federer began coached Zverev while they were on the way to the locker-room.
Federer said, “I want a lets go and a come on for every f**king point you win. I don’t want to see any negative shit.” Besides Federer, Rafael Nadal also accompanied them. Zverev mentioned that their shrieking after the second set helped Team Europe to lift the Laver Cup.

“It was an unbelievable weekend. Those guys (Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal) were screaming at me in the locker room before the Match Tie-break, saying this is how I could turn my season around. Without all of these guys on the bench, I couldn’t have done it,” Zverev said. “This is very special, especially playing in front of those guys and having them trust me to play the last match.”
The German lad, Zverev was the last hope for Team Europe for retaining their Laver Cup title. One of the successful young contenders on tour, Sascha lived up to the exception of his squad’s and was instrumental in clinching his team’s victory.
He played an intense match against Milos Raonic. Zverev dropped his service game at 4-2 in the second set and later couldn’t get back on serve and consequently dropped the set.

After their third consecutive at Laver Cup title, Roger Federer was overwhelmed with his home crowd’s response in Geneva, Switzerland. “I’m very excited. What an atmosphere and what a match. I’m thrilled that I was able to give something back to the team after a tough Match Tie-break (in doubles) earlier today,” Federer said. “Team Europe has been amazing. They’ve fought so hard and played so well.”
The next edition of the tournament, Laver Cup 2020 will take place in Boston. Team Europe’s captain Bjorn Borg and Team World’s captain John McEnroe have confirmed that they will lead the teams next year.
