Cristiano Ronaldo has rubbished claims he could leave Juventus in the summer to join David Beckham’s new MLS side Inter Miami.
Former Manchester United and England captain Beckham said his club have a chance of signing Ronaldo or Barcelona’s Lionel Messi in the years to come.
But the Portugal star has denied the claims and insisted he is happy in Turin.
“I’m happy,’ Ronaldo told Sky Sports.
“I’m in the best club in Italy, I’m playing alongside the best players. I’m happy we won trophies last year – and this year I hope to win as well.
“As an individual I am happy. I went to Juventus to score goals and do my best and I am very happy.”
The 35-year-old’s comments come after Beckham insisted he was hoping to prise some of the best footballers in the world to his club.
“Well you know what, we’ve got great opportunities down in Miami,” Beckham said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday.
“We’ve been contacted by a lot of different players over possibly coming to join the team.
“As with any owner, you really want the best players and if we have the opportunity to bring in players like Cristiano or Leo, I have such admiration for them as athletes, if we could bring those players in then great.”
Cristiano Ronaldo: Juventus forward has no plans to slow down
“One thousand games means that dedication, hard work and talent pays off … I hope to play hundreds of games more.”
Cristiano Ronaldo has told Sky Sports News there is plenty more to come from him after racking up the 1000th appearance of his career last weekend.
Ronaldo equalled a Serie A record in Juventus’ 2-1 win at SPAL by scoring in his 11th consecutive Italian league game.
“It’s a good achievement,” he told Sky Sports News.
“One thousand games means that dedication, hard work and talent pays off.
“It is not easy to do 1000 games at 35 years old. I’m so happy. It’s nice but I hope to play hundreds of games more.
“It’s good, it’s a good number but the most important thing was to win the game and be on top of the league.”
Ronaldo joined Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon in 2003 and went on to play for Real Madrid for nine years before joining Juventus ahead of the 2018-19 season.
David Beckham, who co-owns MLS franchise Inter Miami, told Sky Sports News last week that any team in the world would love to sign Ronaldo or Lionel Messi if it was possible.
But Ronaldo appears perfectly content at Juventus where he has a contract until the summer of 2022.
“I’m happy,” Ronaldo said.
