THE QUEEN has baffled royal security forces who are shocked with her attitude towards being a target from enemies.Royal author and historian Professor Richard Aldrich highlighted that some foreign security forces have dubbed the Queen “mad”.
While speaking to Kate Thornton on the True Royalty show, he said the Queen is confident and comfortable moving at slow speeds with open-top carriages so she can see the public.
He added security forces need to be trained ahead of foreign visits as they are used to driving at important leaders 70mph.
Ms Thornton said: “That is something the Queen does quite often, having the open-top carriage.”She is quite unusual in terms of that isn’t she, it does make her a sitting target.”
Professor Aldrich replied: “One of the things the Queen’s team do when she is travelling abroad, is they have to retrain local security people.
“This is because if you are Putin or Turkish Prime Minister or something you are used to being whizzed around in an armoured car at 70mph.
“For the Queen, she is like ‘no, no one wants to kill me, I need to see these people, they are wonderful and they are my people.'”The royal expert also highlighted some of the foreign security’s reaction to the Queen’s decision.
He said: “They have got to train the security guys not to go at 70 mph.”They are all like ‘the Queen is mad’ but, of course, she always gets away with it.”
The royal expert also highlighted one of the most dangerous moments for the Queen during her reign.Professor Aldrich: “There have not been kidnap attempts but there have been numerous assassination attempts.
“Probably, the most dangerous moment was in 1977.”The Shah comes to visit Britain, he is a key ally and he is very important and they are going to Ascot.
