Lionel Messi is one of the few athletes with amazing skills and killer looks…
Lionel Messi is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a forward and captains both Spanish club Barcelona and the Argentina national team.
Often considered the best player in the world and widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time for obvious reasons. No one has the dribbling, passing and shooting skills to go with the vision, speed of thought and capacity to influence a game which the Argentine possesses in abundance.
Messi is one charming prince who can floor anybody with his smile. He has got this boyish charm which attracts millions of women. Lionel Messi is a package deal. He has got it all; from amazing football skills to excellent records for the club and nation and from a perfect physique to extremely handsome looks.
Although this heartthrob is married, he is the dream man of women all around the globe. He is a true gentleman, extremely grounded and a loyal partner. It is no rocket science that women give away their hearts to this man as he is an ideal man.
We doubt if we can crush on any other footballer as we do on Messi!
17 ridiculous Lionel Messi stats after his 1000th direct goal contribution
Lionel Messi has become the first footballer in history to officially hit the 1000 mark for combined goals and assists.
The Argentine, who has spent the entirety of his senior career with Barcelona, ended a four-match streak without a goal in La Liga – incredibly, his longest drought since 2013 – with a four-goal haul against Eibar.
He completed his hat-trick by half-time and then added another for good measure in the second half. The latest goals take him to his latest barely believable milestone.
1000 Goals Broken Down
– He’s scored 696 goals and provided 306 assists for club and country.
– Of those 696 goals, 70 have come for Argentina, and 626 for Barcelona. He’s also scored 22 goals for Barcelona C and B, and Argentina’s Under-20s and Under-23s.
– He’s scored 37 goals against Sevilla, six more than any other team. Atletico (31), Valencia (28), and Real Madrid (26) are his next favourite victims.
– At international level, he’s scored five times against Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. The most of any opponent.
– The side he’s assisted against the most often is Levante, setting up 19 goals.
– The most league goals he’s managed in a single league campaign was 50 in the 2011-12 season.
– He’s scored at least 25 league goals in each of the last 10 La Liga seasons. He needs seven more to hit that tally again this year.
– He’s scored at least 40 goals in all competitions in each of the last 10 seasons. He needs 17 more to hit that again this year.
– He’s registered at least 10 assists in nine of the last 10 La Liga seasons. The only exception was 2016-17 when he registered nine.
– The most assists he’s managed in a single La Liga season was 18 in 2010-11 and 2014-15. He could break that this season, having already got 12.
Future milestones
– He can make it to 900 appearances in 2020. He’s currently on 853.
– Goal number 700 is imminent. He’s four away.
– Currently on 626 Barcelona goals, it’s unlikely that he repeats the 91-goal heroics of 2012 to make it to the next century in 2020. Averaging the 100-mark every two years, expect him to get to the 700 Barca goals sometime in 2021.
– He will soon beat Pele’s legendary Santos record. He’s just 17 goals short of the Brazilian’s record for most goals for one club.
– He’s also closing in on Francisco Gento’s La Liga record. He could lift an 11th La Liga title this year, which would take him one behind the Real Madrid great.
– He may soon win a record seventh Pichichi (La Liga’s top scorer) award. He’s currently on six, tied with Telmo Zarra, the player he surpassed in 2014 to become La Liga’s all-time top goalscorer.
– It’s unlikely he manages it in the next year or two, but with three years on the Champions League’s record top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo (128), he has half a chance of toppling that record by the time he retires. He’s currently 14 behind, on 114.
