Swiss Maestro Roger Federer started an at-home volley challenge that went viral. Many other tennis players started doing this challenge. Serena Williams was one of them and she said that she was Roger’s racquet to do the challenge. Seeing this, Roger made a hilarious comment.
How Did Roger Federer React
Roger Federer reacted to Serena using his racquet through his Instagram story. He was certainly happy that Serena still has his racquet and is using it to complete the challenge. Since Serena has his racquet, Roger had to ask when he will get one of her racquets.
Serena has not replied to him yet but I am sure we will get a reply soon enough. Maybe she will mail her racquet to Roger since she can’t give it to him personally due to the coronavirus pandemic but either way Roger will still get Serena’ racquet.
Speaking of the coronavirus pandemic, every tennis fan is devastated that the tennis season has been suspended because of it. They will be waiting for the season to resume as they are extremely bored in their homes. This begs the question – when is the tennis season resuming? Unfortunately, there is no clear answer.
The suspension of the tennis season has been extended not once but twice. This because the situation with the virus is just getting worse and worse. If the situation does not get better soon we may not see any tennis in the year 2020 and I am sure no tennis fan wants that to happen.
Roger and Serena certainly do not want that to happen. Roger wants to extend his lead in the grand slam race by lifting his 21st grand slam. Serena, on the other hand, wants to equal Margaret Court’s record of 24 grand slams. If the situation with the virus gets better, they will have that opportunity in July.
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal’s Coach Engage in a Banter on Twitter
With no tennis around due to the outbreak of coronavirus, Roger Federer has been making sure to entertain the tennis fans on social media. After kicking off tennis at home challenge for his fans and other celebrities around the world, Federer walked down the memory lane with some of the legends of the sport.
Federer remembers his match with Carlos Moya at the 2003 Vienna Open Finals when the former clinched his 10th ATP title after defeating Moya in straight sets. The Basel native also expressed his love for Moya.

One of the fans reminded Roger about Moya when he picked the option of ‘bringing back your favorite retired player’ in the list of multiple options from ATP Tennis TV. Federer revealed that he loves Moya with a pinch of humor in it. “Carlitos, loved him. Not sure what he is up to now,” wrote Federer with a winking sticker.
Federer and Moya have met each other 7 times in their career with the Swiss getting the better of Carlos in as many matches. The latter still remembers his inferior record against the 20-time Grand Slam champion as he sparked a funny conversation between the two.
“Love you too, even with my 0-7 head-to-head. Stay safe, hope to see you soon,” Moya replied.
“Was it 7? Who cares now anyways…Best to you and your family, see you soon Carlito,” Roger responded
Moya, however, harked back to the 2007 Rome Masters when he partnered with Rafael Nadal to defeat Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka in the first round of the doubles draw and suggested that their head-to-head is 1-7.
The former World No.1 Moya is currently coaching his compatriot Nadal. The 19-time Grand slam winner always had a dominated head-to-head record over his arch-rival Federer.
However, the Swiss maestro has indicated a change of guard in the past few years. Federer has won 6 out of the last 7 matches against Nadal. Moreover, the only loss came at Nadal’s favorite surface at the French Open 2019.
Moya has certainly played a significant role in Nadal’s resurgence. However, Nadal has failed to continue his dominance over Roger under the tutelage of coach Moya. Nevertheless, tennis fans will be eagerly waiting for the season to resume and witness another ‘Fedal’ match. It will be interesting to see if Nadal can again turn this around against Federer.
