Sasha Banks has a champion versus champion matchup this Sunday at Survivor Series as she takes on old rival Asuka.
Banks currently holds the SmackDown Women’s title after wrestling it from her former best friend Bayley and will challenge her RAW counterpart at the battle of the brands.
However, the collision of two world champions that will see Roman Reigns versus Drew McIntyre this Sunday has been the match that has been making the headlines and capturing the imaginations.
In fairness, Banks has wrestled Asuka a few times this year and that could be why it’s flying under the radar, but in a new interview, Banks insists she is the biggest star in the company and better than Reigns.
“I’m not afraid to let people know that I’m better than Roman Reigns. I really am,” Banks told Bleacher Report in an interview ahead of Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view.
“I’m the face of SmackDown,” she said. “I’m better than Drew McIntyre. I am. There are facts; you can look at the science and the numbers. I am the face of the company. I am the best and that’s just who I am. I’m a legit boss.
“I’m here to be the greatest, I’m here to make a legacy and I’m here to make so much history and create change and create magic, and I already know that I’m doing that right now.”
When Banks talks about the facts and the science, she may well be referencing the ratings numbers which would back up her claim to a degree.
Banks is the owner of the two highest rated segments in WWE since the COVID-19 pandemic too ahold in March.
She is also the owner of the highest rated NXT segment this year from when she met Io Shirai at The Great American Bash.
However, there is a clear correlation between Roman Reigns’ return at SummerSlam and the SmackDown TV ratings going up. Banks is also on that show so, regardless, she plays her part and many would argue SmackDown own the two biggest stars in WWE.
