In a video posted on his Instagram account, Roman Reigns has confirmed that he has indeed pulled out of WWE WrestleMania 36. WWE has yet to confirm the news and with less than a week until the pay-per-view, it looks like WWE will wait for an angle (taped last week) to play out on SmackDown to announce the news.
Reigns said he noticed how social distancing has made people nicer and kinder. He said it’s not about being nice to the people in front of you and we all have a responsibility to be nice to everyone, even on social media with people we connect with around the world because you never know what people are going through.
Reigns continued, “You already know what’s going on, it’s all over the news, the dirtsheets, whatever you wanna call them that I pulled out of WrestleMania. It’s funny because for years, people were like ‘don’t show up to WrestleMania, we don’t want you in it.’ There was a handful of dudes and haters that didn’t want me there but the moment I make a choice for me and my family, [I’m called] a coward, a sissy.”
He continued, “You don’t know the whole story, all you know is what you think. You don’t know what else is going on in my life. You don’t know if I have newborns, you don’t know if I have family in my household, older family.”
Reigns urged everyone to better themselves and grow during this time. He said he is sorry to his fans for not being at WrestleMania and he confirms that he was in Orlando last week for the WrestleMania tapings but he made a decision for himself and his family.
