World No.2 Rafael Nadal has returned to training two months after a strict lockdown and isolation due to the outbreak of coronavirus all around the world. The Spaniard hit the practice courts after Spain eased lockdown restrictions in the non-containment areas.
Nadal was one of the many tennis players who were suffering huge difficulties in training due to the stringent measures in Europe in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. However, the Mallorcan was finally able to hit some balls after a two-month hiatus.

According to reports, the 19-time Grand Slam champion practiced at his academy in Mallorca. Moreover, he trained at a different location from where the students of the academy are staying during the coronavirus lockdown. Nadal certainly followed all the coronavirus safety rules and precautions.
After imposing some of the most severe measures in Europe, the citizens of Spain are beginning to return to normal life, with restrictions eased in two-week blocks. The pandemic has shown signs of slowing down in the country. Consequently, the Spanish Government has allowed the ‘high performance’ athletes to train outdoors in the non-containment areas.
Nadal is residing in his hometown Mallorca, which has seen a lower rate of coronavirus cases. Consequently, the Government has allowed professional athletes in the district to start training.
On the other hand, Nadal’s arch-rival Novak Djokovic, who is also residing in Spain, might have to wait for more to hit the practice courts. The Serb is currently living in Marbella, which has seen a higher rate of infection compared to Mallorca.
The tennis tour came to halt for an indefinite period since early March due to the global health crisis. It is still uncertain when the tour will resume. However, the players will have to keep themselves in shape in order to maintain their level after the season restarts.
