American star Serena Williams has been on the tennis court for a long time. She has had many amazing moments there. Some were emotional but some were also extremely funny. Here is one of those funny moments that took place during an exhibition match.
Serena Williams Dancing On-Court
Serena Williams has shown her amazing tennis skills time and time again. What we have rarely seen is her amazing ability to dance. In the video that we saw above, she is dancing extremely well and is being given competition by her sister.
Serena and her sister Venus Williams danced during an exhibition match where they were on opposite sides of the court. They were in the middle of a doubles’ before Serena suddenly started dancing. Her sister decided to join the fun and show her sister who is the better dancer.
It was fun to see Serena Williams but I think tennis fans will prefer to see her do something else – play tennis. Unfortunately, we will not be able to see that for a while because the coronavirus pandemic has suspended the WTA tour.
Tennis fans who have been deprived of tennis will be asking the question – when will the WTA tour return? Unfortunately, there is no clear answer to that question as the WTA tour suspension has been extended not once but twice.
The official day for the return of the WTA tour is July 13th after the cancelation of the Wimbledon. If the current situation persists, it is likely we will not see any tennis this year. Tennis fans certainly do not want that.
Serena Williams certainly does not want that. She wants the opportunity to beat Margaret Court’s record of 24 grand slams and cement her position as the GOAT of women’s tennis. If all goes well, she will have that opportunity.
Serena Williams: My Heroes are Moms because Women are Superheroes
23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams says she thinks working mothers are superheroes and need to be recognised, while speaking to Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour at the New York Fashion Week on Tuesday.
According to Time magazine, Williams who displayed her own fashion collection on Wednesday at the Fashion Week, says, “Being a mom is super important, but also being a leader so my daughter can look at me and say, ‘This is what my mom did.
I aspire to do that and I want to be better…It’s really important to me to inspire the next generation because that’s what the future is”. When Wintour asked her who her heroes are, Williams says, “My heroes have changed…after having a child, my heroes are moms because women are superheroes.
To have a baby and then have to go to work two or three weeks later or work a 9-5…I’m fortunate to not have to do that. I’m at a loss for words when I think of women who work day in and day out, providing for their families, when I know how hard it is for me to leave my daughter.
I never felt that way until I became a mom. I think women need to be recognized”. Besides being a mom, Williams continues to focus on her tennis career, her business ventures and now her fashion collection as well. Williams has a daughter, Olympia, who is 2 years old. At the recent Australian Open, she said that she had not spent a day apart from her daughter so far.
