Vanessa Bryant proudly escorted her eldest daughter Natalia Diamante to the Met Gala afterparty at The Standard Hotel in Manhattan on Monday night. The 39-year-old widow of NBA star Kobe Bryant flaunted substantial cleavage in a green long-sleeved gown featuring a thigh-high slit and gold stilettos.
Hairstylist Lara C. Kay coiffed Vanessa’s ‘mermaid waves’ and make-up artist Dee Chudy applied her lashes and contoured complexion. At nearly 6ft tall, the 18-year-old IMG Model towered over her mother in a black chiffon caped dress and matching platforms selected by ‘Image Architect’ Law Roach.
Also at The Standard bash was Bryant’s good friend, Grammy winner Ciara, rocking a rear-length cascading wig. The Orange County native and the 35-year-old R&B songstress enjoyed cocktails and French fries while singing along to the DJ at the party.
Natalia aka Nani ‘had the best time’ making her Met Gala debut, which was themed ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.’ Bryant went for sixties chic in a colorful, bulbous Conner Ives AW/21 ‘Demi-Couture Recycled PET’ plastic floral sequin gown.
The USC freshman – who’s majoring in film – had her beehive coiffed by Ro Morgan and her make-up applied by Jose Corella. ‘Bringing back preschool drop off feelings as I send my first born off to her first Met Gala,’ Vanessa – who boasts 15.3M Instagram followers – gushed.
‘The Vogue team and Anna Wintour appointed Natalia this incredible dress designed by Conner Ives which will also be featured in the American Lexicon exhibit. Thank you to Instagram, Anna Wintour, and Vogue for hosting my beautiful Natalia. Special thanks to our glam team!’
Bryant is is also mother to two-year-old daughter Capri Kobe and four-year-old daughter Bianka Bella from her nine-year marriage to the late, great Kobe Bryant. The retired LA Laker and their fourth daughter Gianna Maria-Onore tragically died – age 41 and 13 – in a January 26, 2020 helicopter crash.
‘I love talking about my dad. It’s bittersweet, but I enjoy talking about him more than it’s sad for me,’ Natalia said in her Teen Vogue September cover story. ‘You do the best that you can. [For] my little sisters [we’re] trying to keep that memory for them. And also just trying to remember to live out every day the way they would.’
