Serena Williams gave fans a rare glimpse into her family life with her husband, Alexis Ohanian, and their daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. Showcasing what a typical Saturday looks like for the famous trio, the tennis star posted a hilarious video of their 2-year-old bouncing off the walls at the early hours as her Reddit co-founder dad attempted to sleep in on the weekend. Serena Williams’ adorable daughter was wide awake as she jumped up and down on the bed in an attempt to get Alexis Ohanian out of his slumber.
It’s Total Chaos!
Laying in bed next to Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams held the phone tight trying to capture the tiny tot’s hyperactive moment while laughing in the background. In the early AM footage, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. can be seen wearing a yellow tutu while crawling all over her parents’ bed. “WAKE UP!” their daughter is heard saying over and over again until her daddy acknowledged her. Sporting a full bead-head look, Alexis Ohanian can also be seen wearing a hot wheels tank top, something his wife made sure to make fun of.
It was total chaos in the Williams-Ohanian household, something many first-time parents can totally relate to. “What sticks out most? @olympiaohanian wake up? @christopherchip being everywhere or…… @alexisohanian Hot Wheels nightie? 🧐🤔,” Serena Williams joked in the caption. Fans are going wild over the funny video and can level with the tennis star in so many ways. “Children—the most effective alarm clocks!” one person replied. “Kids are so mean they never let you sleep 😂😂😂😂😂” stated another. “My kid is exactly the same. Long gone are the days of a decent sleep in,” laughed a third.
He’s a Great Dad:
Even Serena Williams’ famous friends are dropping hilarious comments on her adorable footage. ” I just love her ❤️❤️,” wrote La La Anthony. Bozoma Saint John commented, “This is the best wake up alarm!! 😂,” and Naomi Watts responded with three heart emojis.
Days before the wake-up video, Alexis Ohanian was praised for his daddy skills after willingly letting the two-year-old paint his nails with actual paint instead of nail polish. “Looks like @initialized needs to invest in the future of nail painting 🙃💅,” he joked while showing off her creation.
Serena Williams Shared Her Exact Skincare Routine for a Makeup-Free Glow
Serena Williams likes to switch up her skincare routine. She doesn’t use the same products every night, and her regimen changes based on how much time she has. In balancing her duties as mom to her 2-year-old daughter Olympia, a champion athlete, and the head of her own fashion and jewelry lines, it’s amazing that she manages to remove her makeup every night. On Feb. 26, she took to Instagram to explain her ever-changing product rotation.
“Every day my face and beauty routine is different,” she said in an Instagram Story. “I’m so busy. I don’t have time to, sadly, take care of myself the way I want to … So I’ve kind of created a routine that still makes me feel good.” And while she’s always trying something new, there are a few core treatments her skincare tends to follow.
She uses gentle cleanser and exfoliates once a week.
On this particular night, she exfoliated with Mario Badescu’s Enzyme Cleansing Gel. “I don’t exfoliate a lot. I usually exfoliate once a week,” she said while washing her face, before moving to the backs of her hands. “One small little tip that I do,” she said. “I actually exfoliate the back of my hands, because you gotta keep your hands looking fresh, too.”
She followed that up with a gentle cleanser (but has sworn by coconut oil to remove her makeup, too). “I just feel like it relaxes my skin and calms it down,” she said. She didn’t mention a specific pick, but in past Instagram Stories, per The Daily Mail, she has doted on La Roche-Posay Effaclar Deep Cleansing Foaming Cream Cleanser and AmorePacific Treatment Cleansing Oil.
She always applies a serum—or two, or three.
After exfoliating in her fun orange and black bat pajamas, Williams treated her face with a few of her many, many, many serums. Previously on Instagram, she gave followers a sneak peek of her bathroom counter, which was filled with organizing trays of droppers and pumps. For this particular night, she went with Asurta’s Anti-Aging 2.5% Retinol Serum, a favorite of her sister’s that’s only $15. “I love this brand,” she said, holding the bottle. “Thanks Venus! I stole it from her.”
Then she used her tried-and-true Vine Vera Resveratrol Age Defying Eye Serum to combat dark circles, along with an unnamed antioxidant serum. Some of her other favorites, which she has mentioned in the past, are the Dr. Barbara Sturm Super Anti-Aging Serum, the Tatcha Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Eye Serum, and the Biossance Squalane+ Phyto-Retinol Serum.
Serena is the queen of masks.
“After the serum I always do my light mask,” she said, hopping into bed with her DMH Aesthetics Light Shield. “I think I’ll do blue tonight.” The mask has different colored light settings that serve different purposes. Blue helps treat acne, red helps treat inflammation, and yellow helps treat age spots and discoloration, according to the brand’s site. Before going to sleep, she opened a self-warming Korean eye mask and slid it over her face. “It smells like lavender, and kind of spa-like,” she said.
She also loves sheet masks of all kinds, and recently shared that she enjoys Innisfree’s My Real Squeeze Manuka Honey Mask for a moisturizing boost. A pricier favorite is MZ Skin’s Replenish & Restore Placenta & Stem Cell Night Recovery Mask. She’s a huge fan of the MZ Skin brand in general, according to her nightly routine video with Harper’s Bazaar, and frequently uses their Collagen Activating Eye Complex.
“I mix it up. I make it my own,” she said in the video. “It’s so important to make your beauty routine your own.” Here makeup-free glow speaks for itself:
