The UFC Hall of Famer showed up at the 2018 Royal Rumble and confronted the winners, and she would later make her in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34 by taking on Triple H and Stephanie McMahon alongside Kurt Angle.
In the year that followed, Rousey was undefeated and won the RAW Women’s title from Alexa Bliss.
The heat between Rousey and Becky Lynch grew to fever pitch by the end of the year and it led to the first ever women’s main event at WrestleMania the following year, which also featured Charlotte Flair.
Rousey departed the company following the historic event, seemingly set on starting a family, but she’s yet to do so.
The 33-year-old has been captured training in a wrestling ring lately, and it’s believed she isn’t done with WWE – but the original contract she signed is meant to be up early next year.
Speaking to the New York Post, Paul Heyman suggested Rousey may have already agreed a new deal with WWE.
“Everyone presumes that Ronda Rousey’s contract expires at a certain time,” he said. “I don’t understand why people don’t realize that perhaps, just perhaps, Ronda Rousey’s contract has been extended or she has worked out a new deal and it would not benefit either WWE or Ronda Rousey to go public with that information.
“But why wouldn’t people understand that it would be kept secret?
“Ronda Rousey is a trailblazer, and I would suggest the next time you see Ronda Rousey she will be making history in whatever she does.
“And if she does it with WWE, it will be something that will elevate the manner in which women’s wrestling is performed and presented because Ronda will never be the status quo. Ronda Rousey will always disrupt the status quo and create a new environment that all others must aspire to.”
