Maria Sharapova, Novak Djokovic, Bianca Andreescu and more tennis stars celebrated Earth Day each in their unique way, either by working in their gardens, promoting environment-friendly messages or by showing the beauty of our planet in some amazing pics.
Kevin Anderson and his wife, Kelsey, decided to celebrate Earth by doing some gardening. “We’re here with our fun little Earth Day activity. We’re planting some herbs for our garden, trying to keep greening up the earth and making it a more beautiful place for generations to come like our sweet little daughter.
Happy Earth Day!” Kelsey said with Kevin nearside.
Novak Djokovic decided to honor our planet with a beautiful shot taken by his wife while he comes to the shore on a surfboard. Many of his fans said that Nole looks like Aquaman in the above picture.
“We need nature. Think, love, care, celebrate. Earth Day every day,” Djokovic wrote on Instagram.
Kristina Mladenovic and Donna Vekic followed Nole’s example and posted stunning sunset pictures.
It’s worth mentioning that Vekic rode 30 km on her bicycle in Slavonia, one of Croatia’s historic regions. “‘Nature is painting for us, day after day, pictures of infinite beauty.’ – 30km to finish the day with this beautiful sunset!” wrote Vekic on Instagram.
Sharapova decided to share a piece of art that describes a close look over Chernobyl from Earth’s perspective.
Chernobyl zone is now inhabited by wildlife and there’s almost no trace of humans. Chernobyl “is a window into a world without us”. This region, where the infamous nuclear disaster struck, played a special role in Sharapova’s early childhood, as the Russian and her family was 30 km away when the explosion happened.
“Today I’m supporting the launch of ‘Earth perspectives’, a new artwork conceived by Olafur Eliasson for Earth Day 2020. This particular image holds a special place in my heart. The Earth viewed over Chernobyl, in Pripyat, Ukraine.
The site of the worst nuclear disaster in history, where rare and endangered species now thrive in the absence of humans,” wrote Sharapova on Instagram.
The 2019 US Open champion has urged people around the world to take care of our planet.
“Earth day appreciation post. I mean damn. It’s a beautiful place, let’s take care of it,” wrote Andreescu on social media.
