Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is clearly frustrated with everything happening this 2020 after the league suspended the NBA season over its first case of coronavirus.
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for the infectious disease, prompting the NBA to suspend the season as they try to come up with possible solutions to prevent the virus from further spreading.
As to LeBron’s point, the latest development is only the latest issue that happened to what has already been a disastrous year all over the world. Aside from the Australian bushfire that got the attention of players and fans alike, the whole world was also rocked by the sudden passing of Lakers icon Kobe Bryant in a tragic helicopter crash.
A Kobe Bryant memorial was held last February to honor the life of the late NBA great. Now, less than a month later, the NBA and the whole world was dealt another blow with the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
While the league has worked non-stop to come up with preventive measures, it is understandable why LeBron James has been frustrated. It is also worth noting that the Lakers star recently mentioned that it would be disappointing to play behind closed doors and without fans — a suggestion that has gained significant traction as a possible solution to the coronavirus crisis.
It remains to be seen what actions the league will take amid this growing issue. However, fans, players, teams, the media and all NBA stakeholders can only hope that they will be able to get through it sooner rather than later.
