One of the most elegant players of this century, Venus Williams, completed 26 years on the tour in 2020. Recently, she was live on Instagram, answering questions from her fans about her personal life and future plans.
One tough question that Venus Williams answered was about having kids after she retires from Tennis. The tennis player said that having children is a huge responsibility. Further, she jokingly said it is something that scared her so she has continued playing tennis.
“It’s not an easy answer there’s a lot of responsibility, and it scares me a little that’s why I’ve kept playing tennis.”
Venus turned 40 last year. With her age on the wrong side, she has had a patchy form of late. Nevertheless, she still strives to play tennis and retirement is a distant thought.

But Venus does want to have a big family as she grows old. It is something that Venus has thought about and could do when she eventually retires.
“But yes, I want to be surrounded by children when I am older like 70 or 80. And those kids around me making me happy with big family so that’s a nice thought. But definitely some dedication that goes into that.”
Questions on her personal life have been asked a lot ever since her sister Serena Williams married and gave birth to her daughter. Venus also informed her fans about her love life.
“No, no boyfriend. Not quite looking for one either.”
Venus Williams’ retirement:
“I got a lot of work to do on the court still,” Venus shared EXCLUSIVELY with HollywoodLife. “My mind when I wake up everyday is still there,” she continued. But Venus did confess that, as she’s matured and grown up in the sport, she is “appreciating things a lot more.”
“I don’t know [what my plans are],” Williams told WTA Media following her straight-sets win over Muguruza.
“I don’t think there is a limit or a maximum.
“I don’t want to say we have a plan.
“I’m not planning on quitting is the best way to put it.”
Venus, a former world number one, has dropped form owing to her age and whatnot.
One of the player’s most memorable finals came at the 2017 Australian Open, where she played — and lost to — her sister while Serena was pregnant with her adorable daughter, Olympia, 3.
With the same tournament just around the corner, Venus is gearing up to head right back to the hard court. “I still have a lot to do on the courts, so I still will be focusing on all of that,” she revealed.
Venus and Serena’s rise to the top of the tennis world is an inspiring, storied tale of hard work and perseverance amidst adversity.
