The three-time Grand Slam winner told Express Sport in China he wants to return to the top of men’s tennis.
But Henman reckons it will be a extremely difficult given the hip resurfacing surgery Murray underwent in January.
“It’s amazing to see the progress that he’s made,” Henman told tennishead.
“He’s got a good schedule now and this is when you’d like to see him play 12 or 15 matches so we can see where he’s at physically with his speed and strength and endurance.
“To get back winning Grand Slams I think is going to be very very hard.
“Looking at where the game is and he’s not getting any younger – I think he can and will win tour events – winning Grand Slams will be very very hard.”

Murray revealed earlier this week in an exclusive sit down with Express Sport his dream of battling Federer, Nadal and Djokovic for the top prizes.
“If I was stepping on court in February and I did not feel I had any chance of going up against the best five players in the world and winning, I probably would not enjoy that,” Murray said.

“If I went out there against one of those three and lost 6-1, 6-1 and got killed, yeah, that is not necessarily productive.
“The mentality going into a match like that right now would not be ideal.
“Not that I ever felt playing them I was ever favourite, but I always felt I would have a chance.

“But right now, that would not be the case.
“Although, if I went and was actually competitive, did well and performed well, that can actually help, I don’t know.”
