Last week, the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County issued a cry for help. Local childcare providers were in need of face masks in order to safely care for children of first responders and healthcare workers.
That’s when tennis superstar Serena Williams jumped to action. William, and her intermediary Tamara Smith, were able to secure 5,000 masks, which will go directly to Palm Beach County childcare facilities in need.
“We were thrilled when Serena Williams offered to help,” said Warren Eldridge, CEO of the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County. “The ripple effect of her donation will impact thousands of people across our county.”
Williams is a 23-time Grand Slam tournament winner and also the mother of a toddler. She recognized the need to safely care for children while their parents are working on the front lines.
“We are extremely grateful for Serena’s generosity,” Eldridge said. “This donation will help our early childhood educators do what they do best — safely care for and educate young children.”

Serena Williams & Alexis Ohanian’s Daughter Olympia Enjoys Her 1st Cupcake
Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian shared a delicious milestone in his daughter’s life when he posted a photo of Olympia Ohanian eating her first cupcake.
Serena Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian decided to expand their daughter, Olympia Ohanian’s palate, with some sugary treats when they let her taste her first cupcake.
In his caption, Alexis gushed over the experience, saying that he and Serena’s little cupcake was eating her first cupcake.
In the photo, Alexis didn’t look impressed as he sat next to Olympia, who looked utterly focused on taking a bite of a cupcake covered in pink frosting.
One fan joked, “I see lots of empty cupcake wrappers to the left!” With two empty wrappers in front of the father-daughter duo and another cupcake looking ready to be eaten, another fan joked about the impending sugar high.
The cupcakes were eaten in honor of Alexis for his 37th birthday. It is reported, Serena is a Jehovah’s witness and doesn’t celebrate birthdays. She is raising her daughter in the same faith.
For Olympia’s second birthday last year, Serena didn’t throw her a birthday party but instead hosted a carnival-themed event for fun months later. One fan surmised that Alexis’ treat was going to have a lasting effect on Olympia’s eating habits.
Getting her to eat the right foods isn’t the only challenge Alexis and Serena might face with their toddler. Serena told Zanna Roberts Rassi from E! that Olympia is obsessed with wearing dresses, she admitted:
“I can’t force her out of a princess dress. She gets so upset. She loves fashion, she loves wearing dresses and that’s what she wants.”
In an interview with E!, Serena admitted that trying to balance her professional and personal life has been her biggest challenge since becoming a mother, she shared:
“I’m always trying to ask everyone else how they balance because I’m not sure I’m doing a good job. I’m just trying to do the best.”
Although Serena shared a tribute for Olympia on her second birthday, the tennis champion made no mention of her husband’s birthday.
It is not clear if Alexis has converted his religion to being a Jehovah’s witness. Still, he did receive belated birthday wishes from his followers under his post of Olympia eating the cupcakes.
