In an earlier interview, when Olympia Ohanian was just 1-2 years old, Serena mentioned that she didn’t quite like Olympia to come and support her during her matches. She stated that she found it a little unprofessional when her daughter just came and started clapping and screaming at her in one of her matches.
“I don’t understand if Olympia really understands what I do yet. So, I am still trying to figure out if she understands and I am not even sure if I like her at my matches yet, because I mean, the last and the only match she came to was she started saying- ‘that’s my mom’ and clapping and screaming and I’m like okay, this is a little unprofessional,” said Serena in the interview.
Serena revealed that the main reason why Olympia was denied the privilege of coming to watch her mother play was because she was too young at the time.
Why Serena Williams didn’t Want Olympia to Come and Watch Her Matches
In the same interview, Serena highlighted that maybe, Olympia was too young at that time. Thus, she clearly hinted that she wants her to grow up first and then come to encourage her.
“So, yeah, I think she is a little, little young still but we’ll see. We can always look back later,”added the 23-time Grand Slam champion.
