With the festival of Easter falling amid the lockdown, everyone is staying indoors and so is the Serbian legend Novak Djokovic. World Number one Djokovic and his wife Jelena Ristic sent their Easters wishes to everyone.
Followed by their wishes, the couple performed a stunt ‘acro yoga position’ and then they challenged the people at Novak Djokovic Foundation to do the same. “Happy Easter everyone! Awaiting our Orthodox Christian Easter to arrive with plenty of time for new challenges,” Novak posted.
“Jelena and I decided to challenge you guys and our Novak Djokovic Foundation community to try this acro yoga position this week with a partner- spouse, kids, roommate, sibling, parents, coach, whoever you’re staying at home with that‘s up for it. Keep your cores strong and your backs safe. Show us what you’ve got!” The Serb tweeted.
Last week, Novak and Jelena accepted Andy Murray and his wife Kim Sears’ challenge. It was a 100-volley exchange between the couples and the Serbian couple was successful in completing it.
COVID-19 contributions of Novak Djokovic
For the victims of coronavirus pandemic, the Serb donated one million Euros through the Novak Djokovic Foundation for his countrymen. The amount will be used to buy ventilators in hospitals.
“The fight is not easy, numbers are not pleasant, but I am convinced that we will manage to make it out of this stronger than before. It is important to remain united in this fight, to help each other. So we can defeat this virus faster and easier,” Djokovic mentioned.
“We would like to use this opportunity to invite everyone else to join us and help numerous families and people who need help to survive and get healthy again.”
In the 2020 season, Djokovic did not lose a single match and has amassed three titles so far.
Horacio Zeballos: ‘Novak Djokovic is more complete than Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal’
In February 2013, Horacio Zeballos claimed the only ATP title in singles in Vina del Mar following that epic victory over Rafael Nadal in the final. The Argentine became the top-40 player soon after that, reaching his peak in singles and never repeating that level in the years to come.
The Mar Del Plata has experienced the “second youth” on the doubles court in the last couple of years, becoming world no. 3 and lifting Masters 1000 trophies alongside the final at the US Open. Waiting for the season to resume like all the other players, Horacio joined a podcast and spoke about various topics, mentioning the players from the top and sharing his thoughts who is the best among them.
For Zeballos, Novak Djokovic is the better and more complete player than Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, praising the Serb’s abilities and seeing him as the future GOAT after breaking Roger Federer’s record for the most Major titles.
Horacio and Novak played two times and the Serb grabbed two wins in straight sets, taking down the Argentine 6-3, 6-4 in Doha 2017 without facing a break point and a year later at Wimbledon where Novak sprints towards the finish line with a 6-1, 6-2, 6-3 triumph in 91 minutes.
“With no doubt, Novak Djokovic is the most complete player out there, ahead of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. It is tough to play against him, especially when you serve as he has an incredible response on the return, sending the ball back with ease.
I believe that, in my best days, I could have given Roger a fight; the same goes for Nadal who sometimes struggles on surfaces he doesn’t like. Novak Djokovic is the hardest rival out there; I think he will break Roger Federer’s Majors record.”
