Andy Murray has opened up on the fact that cruelty towards animals depresses him. The 3-time Grand Slam title winner has gone on to say that he really loves animals.
“I care as much about animals as I do about human beings. Some people find that funny but I don’t,” said Murray.
He and his wife Kim have two border terriers, Maggie May and Rusty. He also revealed that it was his love for animals that led him to champion causes for the world’s most vulnerable wildlife.
“We’re all on this planet together and it’s horrible when you see what happens to some animals that are almost extinct,” he said. “Animals don’t have a voice, human beings do, and it’s nice to try to help with that.”
