When she isn’t training, Serena is often sharing her lavish lifestyle on social media, often sporting swimwear on sandy beaches and aboard the decks of luxury sailing vessels, which might lead many people to wonder if Serena Williams has a yacht.

However, more often than not, Serena Williams can be found spending her time at the beach and on the water. Her social media accounts are filled with sexy snaps of the tennis titan with tropical backgrounds and sparkling azure water, most recently posting a video of dancing with her sister aboard the deck of a boat, captioning it, “Yacht got time?”

Williams also spent a recent holiday on a yacht, when she was in Florida to attend the Art Basel show and promote her fashion line. Given Serena’s propensity for being on the water, it makes sense that she often charters yachts to get off the mainland, but could she and her husband afford to own a yacht?

Though the price varies by size and amenities aboard, the average cost of a yacht is $8.4 million. This, however, does not include maintenance, or the staff and crew required to helm the ship.
The average yacht might boast luxury furniture, bars and television screens, but there are also mega yachts, which can include swimming pools, waterfalls, gyms and spas, movie theaters and beach clubs. No matter how fancy the amenities of a yacht might be, ultimately they’ll all have similar views from the deck.
Though Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian could certainly afford a yacht with their combined net worth, given how often and how far they travel, it’s much simpler and more cost efficient for them to charter a yacht wherever they happen to be.
