“I can’t hear you over my 7 Olympic medals.” Simone Biles will not let the haters get to her. One month after leaving the 2021 Tokyo Olympics with a bronze medal after withdrawing from most of her planned events, the gymnastic star took to Instagram to reflect on her journey.
“Definitely not the way I planned the Olympics going but I wouldn’t change anything for the world,” she wrote. “I’m proud of myself and the career I’ve had thus far. This Olympics doesn’t erase the past accomplishments I’ve achieved nor does it define who I am as an athlete.”
And if you begrudge Biles for removing herself from an extremely stressful and dangerous situation, well, the GOAT has a message for you. “I’ve pushed through so much the past couple years, the word quitter is not in my vocabulary,” she continued. “For some of you that may be how you define me but keep talking because I can’t hear you over my 7 Olympic medals which tied me for the most decorated gymnast EVER as well as most decorated American gymnast 😊🤭 .”
The post, which has amassed over 800,000 likes, has been flooded with support from fans in the comments. “You are the most remarkable human ever to exist,” American Crime Story: Impeachment actor Beanie Feldstein wrote.

Since returning from Japan, Simone Biles has been living her best life by the pool and celebrating her one-year anniversary with her NFL player boyfriend, Jonathan Owens. In August the gymnast shared a series of photos from a girls weekend on Instagram, wearing a pretty light-blue bikini and a white bandana. “Beaching until further notice,” she captioned one of the posts.
Prior to her time at the Olympics, Biles opened up to Glamour about discovering new passions during quarantine. “Before, I would only focus on the gym,” she said. “But me being happy outside the gym is just as important as me being happy and doing well in the gym. Now it’s like everything’s coming together.”
She continued, “I feel like everybody was painting, or knitting, or doing something cool in quarantine, so I was like, ‘I’m going to learn how to do my makeup, my hair, and my nails.’ I almost ruined my nails, so that is no longer permitted. I’ve definitely gotten better at doing my hair, but clearly, I’m not gifted in that department. I’m just really trying to find who I am.”
