Tennis champion Serena Williams keeps sending her prayers to Kobe Bryant, his dead daughter Gianna and his grieving family, as well as to the other victims of the helicopter crash that took place near Calabasas, California.
“I will continue to pray for the Bryant family, the Chester family, the Altobelli family, the Mauser family, and the Zobayan family and friends during this difficult time. Your legend will live on”. Serena said on her Instagram along with a simple picture of the red color.
Red is associated with fire and blood, so it is associated with energy, war, danger, strength, power, determination as well as passion, desire, and love. Williams also shared a quote from the Bible to help the ones left in sorrow after the loss of Kobe Bryant and his daughter.
“Rejoice in the hope. Endure under tribulation. Persevere in prayer”. Serena quoted the Bible on her Instagram story. Regarding the relation between Serena and Kobe Bryant, the two had mutual respect for each other’s accomplishments in their chosen sports.
Kobe even called Serena “The GOAT (Greatest Of All Time)” in a tweet after the American tennis player won the 2017 Australian Open final against her sister Venus Williams and got one Grand Slam away from reaching Margaret Court record of 24.
Besides this, Bryant and Williams collaborated for the Kobe and Annie Matthew’s book, ‘Legacy and the Queen’, that encompasses a tale of finding your inner magic against all odds. “We sat on the phone for like an hour and we just talked.
We talked about technique, we talked about practice, we talked about the emotional struggles of being a young athlete. I think a lot of times as athletes, we feel like being sensitive is a weakness. I wanted (Legacy and the Queen) to be a great example for my daughters, for all the young women out there, that your sensitivity is where a lot of your power, your inner magic comes from”, Kobe said at the Orange County Children’s Book Festival at Orange Coast College.
‘Legacy and the Queen’ was launched at the middle of 2019 and it features the following message from Kobe to his daughters: “To Nani, Gigi, B.B., and KoKo, my four beautiful, spirited, strong daughters: When you fiercely protect your passion, no one can ever steal your dreams”.
