Patrick Mouratoglou, coach of all-time great, Serena Williams has stated that he is hyped up for the season-opening Grand Slam which is set to begin February 8th onwards.
To put his emotions in a visual form, he shared a picture of the American warming-up in Melbourne Park last year. “Ready to turn our world upside down for the next month,” Patrick wrote. “Bring it on, Australia.”
The 39-year-old will travel to Adelaide this week, to under-go the two-week quarantine. She will even participate in an exhibition match there along with Top 3 men and women of tennis.
But all that is not in prime focus for the American as well as her coach. Serena, who is a 23 time Grand Slam winner, wants to win the Australian Open title and make history happen.
Serena Williams chases record-equaling 24th Grand Slam
Since her return to tennis after being a mother, Serena’s biggest goal has been the 24th Grand Slam. In an interview recently, she confirmed that breaking Margaret Court’s all-time record of 24 Majors is the only reason she is still playing.
Post motherhood, the American has failed in 4 Slam finals. Serena won her latest Slam (23rd) in the same Australian Open, back in 2017.
Considering her coach’s positive enthusiasm, fans should expect big from Serena who is also a 4-time Olympic Gold medalist.
