Upon learning that our significant other wants to have Italian for dinner, the vast majority of us would probably Yelp the nearest Olive Garden. But not Alexis Ohanian: When he found out Serena Williams was craving an Italian meal, he simply took her to Italy.
This past week the couple flew to Venice for an impromptu getaway, after, as Ohanian joked in an Instagram caption, Williams was craving Italian food. In a series of posts, the pair gave us a vicarious tour through the iconic city.
In an Instagram post on Ohanian’s account, the Reddit founder revealed that Williams expressed a craving for Italian food for dinner, so he whisked her away to Italy, as one does, setting a new bar for relationship goals.
Ohanian also shared on social media that they rode on a gondola on Venice’s famed canals.
They sip wine in one photo, and take in views from a gondola in another. The most impressive post of all, however, was the aerial view of Williams in their hotel room that appeared to be taken by a drone.
“Loving family time in beautiful Italy,” Williams wrote in the caption, tagging L’Albereta Relais & Châteaux. “What an insane room I stayed in. I got to look at stars from my bed at night!! This week has been a dream!”
In one final post Ohanian implied this was actually the couple’s first time in Venice (what a welcome).
“Venezia made a great first impression on the family. We’ll certainly be back,” he captioned a photo of the city’s skyline. “But there’s work to be done…”
This is far from the first over-the-top declaration of love Ohanian has done for Williams.
Back in February he bought not one, not two, but four billboards just so he could declare Williams the “Greatest Momma of All Time.” Remember that?
