Recently one of the closest friends of Kobe, tennis star Naomi Osaka has opened about her relationship with him.
Naomi also posted a heartfelt message with a series of pictures on her social media. To celebrate and pay tribute to Kobe on his 42 birthday on Sunday.
In one of these pictures, there was Kobe with Naomi’s boyfriend YBN Cordae and Colin Kaepernick seeing the Japanese ace playing the US Open.

Bryant and Osaka met in June 2019, just six months before Kobe’s demise. Both didn’t get enough time to blossom their friendship, but Osaka says Kobe was one of her greatest supporters.
He would help and support her no matter what. She opens up to the Wall Street Journal and says “There would always be some really tough losses, and we have to deal with them”.
She then says “I didn’t even know he was paying attention to my career, but he would text me positive things all the time and ask me to learn from them.”
Osaka paid tribute to Kobe soon after his demise with her heartfelt words. She even affectionately calls Kobe her ‘Big Brother’.
She says she doesn’t even know what she is going to write in such a sad situation. But Kobayashi has always inspired to be a better person and supported her to achieve her goals.
She says Bryant was one of her biggest supporters and she will respect and appreciate him always.
