Holocaust Survivor Sends a Powerful Message to the World on the 3rd Anniversary of the October 7 Attacks

Three years after the October 7, 2023 attacks, the memories of that day remain deeply painful for survivors, families and communities affected by the violence.

As Israel marks the anniversary, remembrance ceremonies have taken place across the country, including at locations where victims were killed and communities were attacked.

The anniversary has also become an opportunity to reflect on the human cost of the conflict that followed, with Israeli and Palestinian families continuing to carry profound grief and trauma.

For a Holocaust survivor, the anniversary carries an especially powerful historical dimension. The survivor’s message to the world is a reminder that the lessons of history must never be forgotten: hatred, dehumanisation and violence can have devastating consequences when humanity fails to confront them.

Remembering the Holocaust and listening to survivors is not simply about looking into the past; it is about challenging the present generation to reject antisemitism, hatred and violence while protecting the dignity and lives of innocent people.

Three years on, October 7 remains a day of mourning, remembrance and difficult reflection. The stories of those who were killed, those who were taken hostage, those who survived and those who continue to live with the consequences should not be reduced to political arguments.

A survivor’s voice carries a simple but profound warning: memory matters, human life matters, and the world must work toward a future in which atrocities are remembered not to deepen hatred, but to prevent them from happening again.
