The Tennis Star’s wife and kids are definitely two precious sets of people you cannot take away from the life of Andy Murray. He plays with his kids and always have nice time with them and a few times, share the same on social media telling the world how the kids are doing.
Andy Murray’s wife Kim Sears married the Wimbledon champion at Dunblane Cathedral on 11 April 2015, and has since welcomed two daughters. The mum-of-two is often seen at various tennis games to support her husband!

The two met at a party for the U.S. Open. At the time, an 18-year-old Andy was competing in the tournament and lost in the second round. Kim’s tennis connections come from her father, Nigel Sears, a former pro player who is now a seasoned coach to high-ranking players.

Though they’ve kept much of their relationship out of the public eye, Andy celebrated with his girlfriend after winning the SAP Open in San Jose, California. They shared a very-public kiss, and then he talked about how grateful he was to have her there.
“First time she came to a tournament with me,” he said. “I’m maybe more relaxed on court. I played really well and hopefully she’ll come to a few more tournaments.”
Andy probably didn’t predict that “a few more” was the biggest understatement of all time. In the 800+ matches he’s competed in, we’d wager that Kim has been in the player’s box for most of them. They moved in together by 2008, and welcomed two border terriers, Rusty and Maggie May (named after their favorite song by Rod Stewart).
“To say we love having them would be an understatement,” Murray wrote in an article for The Players’ Tribune. “Honestly, I can’t imagine our lives without them.” Aww.

Before you get too upset about this one, fear not. They were only apart for a few months, and they made a glorious return when they confirmed their reunion in April 2010. By June, she was there for more tournament watching. In 2009, Kim graduated from the University of Sussex. The self-described “full time procrastinator / part time painter” creates pet portraits.

Everyone can remember Andy’s first-ever Wimbledon championship in 2013, which also marked the first time a British man had won the tournament in 77 years.
A proud Kim was in the stands, wearing an iconic mint dress. (BTW: Her style has inspired Instagram accounts and blogs, and we could write an entire article dedicated to her flawless blowouts).
Almost immediately after the historic win, everyone wanted to know one thing: When are you getting married? Andy was adamant that it wouldn’t happen soon, but sure enough …

True love prevails!
After confirming their engagement in November 2014, the longtime couple was married in Andy’s beloved hometown of Dunblane, Scotland. It was a private, intimate ceremony, but Scots lined up to get a glimpse of the couple on their big day.
Kim wore a custom gown made by Jenny Packham, one of Kate Middleton’s favorite designers. Meanwhile, Andy rocked a traditional kilt for the nuptials.

Sophia was born in February 2016, just after Andy lost the final in the Australian Open. Fighting back tears, he shared a message to his pregnant wife: “To my wife, Kim, who I’m sure is … she’s gonna be watching back home just now. You’ve been a legend the last two weeks. Thank you so much for all of your support, and I’ll be on the next flight home.”
A few months later, the new dad won Wimbledon again in June 2016. And Kim’s reactions were everything. She also co-authored the book, How to Look After Your Human: A Dog’s Guide.
The couple welcomed their second little girl, Edie, in November 2017. To prove just how private they are, Edie’s name wasn’t revealed until 10 months after her birth. Kudos to them and their inner circle for holding that one back!
No photos have been taken of the couple’s kiddos, but Andy shared the most adorable (not to mention, hilarious) conversation he had with his 3-year-old Sophia earlier this year. Andy is more skilled on grass or hard court surfaces, but a particularly great moment happened when Sophia ask him about “orange tennis,” or playing on a clay court. “Just watching some of the Barcelona tournament on the tv with my daughter,” he wrote, before showing this conversation:
“Daddy do you like orange tennis?”
“Emmm not really poppet”
“Daddy you’re rubbish at orange tennis”
Wife … “actually daddies quite good at orange tennis”
“No daddy’s rubbish at orange tennis”
“Bit harsh but she’s got a point,” he wrote at the end of the epic Instagram story.
People also suspect a third baby is on the way, as Kim was spotted wearing a maternity top at Wimbledon last month.
All Andy Murray wants is for his daughters to see him play
The pro couldn’t hold back his tears in January 2019, when he announced that he needed to step away from tennis to prioritize his health. After what he thought could be his final match, he told reporters:
“I would like my daughters to come and watch me play a tennis match, hopefully understand what’s happening before I finish. But I’m aware that probably isn’t going to happen now. I’m a bit sad about that.”
About five months later, though, he triumphantly returned to win the men’s doubles tournament at the Queen’s Club Championships in London. Two weeks later, he appeared as the mixed doubles partner for none other than Serena Williams at Wimbledon. So, from what we’ve seen so far, we’re pretty confident that his daughters (along with their mum, obviously), will be there to watch him win again.
