Andy Murray said the Olympic Games have given him “some of the best memories” of his life after his doubles defeat in Tokyo. “I feel crushed after todays loss 😞💔 sport can be brutal,” Murray stated
The two-time Olympic champion hinted he may have played his last match at the Games and said he feels “crushed” after the “brutal” loss.
Murray and British partner Joe Salisbury were defeated 4-6, 7-6 (7-2), 10-7 by the Croatian team of Marin Cilic and Ivan Dodig in the men’s doubles quarter-finals.
Three-time major champion Murray claimed gold medals in singles at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, as well as a silver medal in mixed doubles in 2012.

“I feel crushed after today’s loss. Sport can be brutal. Thanks so much Joe Salisbury for the opportunity to play. You were brilliant. I wish it could have gone a little better but s*** happens,” Murray said on Twitter.
“And if this is the end of my Olympics journey I want to say a huge thanks to Team GB and all the tennis support team for everything they have done to help me perform at my best over the years.
“It’s been an absolute privilege to represent you and my country at four Olympics and it’s given me some of the best memories of my life.”
