Naomi Osaka keeps on collecting endorsements. The Japanese sensation has become a darling of some of the top brands flaunting the same “power” of the great Serena Williams.
Naomi has now started a partnership with Louis Vitton. The world no.3 broke the news on social media recalling also that she has been receiving a Louis Vuitton bag for every birthday year since she was 16.
Naomi commented:
“Wow this is actually crazy. Honored to be @louisvuitton newest House Ambassador.
Funny story : I first bought my mom a LV bag when I was 16 as a birthday present and it’s kinda been a tradition since. Do I call this a full circle moment? Yes”
Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams
Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams are about to head to Adelaide, where they will start their quarantine in Australia to get ready for the first slam of the year.
The Japanese ace won the Australian Open in 2019 while Serena conquered Melbourne on 7 occasions.
Before playing the major, Naomi and Serena are scheduled to take part in an exhibition in South Australia before heading to Melbourne, where they should play a WTA500.
“Aside from tennis, my most treasured passion is fashion; and there is no brand more iconic than Louis Vuitton,” Osaka said in a statement. “It is such an honor to work with Nicolas – he’s a designer I admire so much and we share a mutual love of Japanese culture and style. To become global brand ambassador is truly a dream come true for me.”
“Naomi is an exceptional woman who represents her generation and is also a role model for everyone,” Ghesquière continued. “Her career and convictions are inspiring. I am in awe of Naomi, she stays true to herself and doesn’t compromise on her values.” says Nicolas Ghesquière.
Though Osaka’s work with LV is only just beginning, the young athlete already has a sizeable history with Nike, including a recent collaborative Blazer.
